Delivering and administering hundreds of millions of COVID-19 vaccinations was one of the greatest communications, logistical and public health challenges in our country’s history. Employers—as the nation’s most trusted institution—were uniquely positioned to strengthen vaccine acceptance and accelerate the nation's recovery. But in the face of an unprecedented public health crisis, companies needed guidance on promoting vaccine education, addressing the needs of disproportionately affected communities, and partnering with an under-funded and over-stretched public health infrastructure to save lives and be better prepared for future challenges.
Meteorite formed the Health Action Alliance to unlock the power of business to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bringing together founding partners who represent the top minds in business, communications and public health, HAA developed best-in-class tools, training and events that helped employers navigate the vaccine roll-out in real time, get millions of workers vaccinated, adapt to evolving challenges from COVID-19 and workplace mental health, and advance health equity. All HAA resources and programming were offered free in order to democratize access to the best health advice, for businesses large and small.
The Health Action Alliance is a joint initiative of the Ad Council, Business Roundtable, the CDC Foundation, the de Beaumont Foundation, the National Safety Council and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation – in partnership with Meteorite.
