Abigail George

Abigail George is a passionate advocate for social justice and impact. She finds joy, inspiration, and motivation through creating meaningful connections and partnerships. In 2021, Abigail joined Meteorite, entering the civics world by supporting the Civic Alliance.

With a background in the nonprofit sector, Abigail previously managed the grantmaking operations at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, cultivating and facilitating philanthropic support of equitable, sustainable, and artistic programs. Prior to her foundation work, she served as the Development Manager of The Salvation Army’s Greater New York Division. There, she engaged in fundraising efforts with major gift donors, planned mission-driven donor events, and ran innovative social media campaigns.

Abigail began her career as a social worker where she worked in the New York Public School system, counseling middle school aged individuals. She also spent time with the Fresh Air Fund, providing social services to youth from low income communities who were given the opportunity to have a summer camp experience. Abigail holds a B.A. in Social Work from Fordham University.
